Christmas Message....

Merry Christmas everyone! May God bless you all. I came across a song that really struck me: WHILE YOU WERE SLEEPING by Casting Crowns. Listen to it here:

Oh little town of Bethlehem
Looks like another silent night
Above your deep and dreamless sleep
A giant star lights up the sky
And while you're lying in the dark
There shines an everlasting light
For the King has left His throne
And is sleeping in a manger tonight

Oh Bethlehem, what you have missed while you were sleeping
For God became a man
And stepped into your world today
Oh Bethlehem, you will go down in history
As a city with no room for its King
While you were sleeping
While you were sleeping

Oh little town of Jerusalem
Looks like another silent night
The Father gave His only Son
The Way, the Truth, the Life had come
But there was no room for Him in the world He came to save

Jerusalem, what you have missed while you were sleeping
The Savior of the world is dying on your cross today
Jerusalem, you will go down in history
As a city with no room for its King
While you were sleeping
While you were sleeping

United States of America
Looks like another silent night
As we're sung to sleep by philosophies
That save the trees and kill the children
And while we're lying in the dark
There's a shout heard 'cross the eastern sky
For the Bridegroom has returned
And has carried His bride away in the night

America, what will we miss while we are sleeping
Will Jesus come again
And leave us slumbering where we lay
America, will we go down in history
As a nation with no room for its King
Will we be sleeping?

What is your mindset, not just this Christmas but everyday? Are you blinded by the world's traditions and outlook of Christmas? Is today the only day you think of the Saviour?
Jesus isn't a helpless little baby lying in a manger. He's not some memorable historical figure whose birthday is on the 25th of December. He is the victorious, risen Son of God who is the only one who can save you from your sins and give you eternal life.
Don't be blinded by the world's perception of Christmas. Celebrate it  everyday-Let Jesus be born in your heart.

Don't make the same mistake Bethlehem did. Don't be sleeping, slumbering, distracted by all this world has to offer. Give Jesus your life and he will make you into something beautiful...He is coming for those who are ready and waiting for him.

"But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.

2For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
3For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
4But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
5Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
6Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. " -1 Thessalonians 5:1-6

CARS 2: Movie Review

Star race car Lightning McQueen and his pal Mater head overseas to compete in the World Grand Prix race. But the road to the championship becomes rocky as Mater gets caught up in an intriguing adventure of his own: international espionage.

My Review:  5 Stars!
My head is still spinning from watching what has officially become my favourite Disney-Pixar animation of 2011: CARS 2

Wow! I sat down with my family, expecting a fairly decent cartoon before we turned in for the night. Having watched Cars when I was younger I was familiar with the whole concept of Cars, and couldn't wait to see the sequel.
Today I was awed not only by the amazing animation( which I expected) but also by the complex storyline(which i did not anticipate). Not only have you got the trademark cars racing theme-this time on the World Grand Prix-but you've also got Secret Spies, undecover agents, an evil plot of sabotage to decapitate the growing interest in alternative fuel ..add to that our friends from Cars 2, starring Mater, mistaken spy-and you've got a glimpse of this awesome movie. Oh, and there's a lot of bombs, missiles and escape scenes. I will unashamedly admit that I cringed often and almost screamed at times:/
Tow Mater-the lovable, funny and often idiotic car who is also McQueens best friend. He gets caught up in a mastermind plot which threatens the very lives of those he holds dear. He has moments of insecurity, especially after being the cause for McQueen losing a race. He faces a major identity-crisis: one which will impact the outcome of deadly events.

I loved how the aspect of friendship was portrayed. McQueen and Mater are two charcters, in many ways diametrically opposite, but still share a bond which surpasses wordly expectations. I love how McQueen stood up for Mater. Later he was embarassed by his behaviour in the high class, and tells Mater to try to ''change to fit in''. Mater doesn't understand then, but later on when he is mentioned as a fool, he doubts himself. McQueen realises his mistake in giving Mater wrong advice and a valuable lesson is later learned : Just be yourself.
I really liked the new cast of characters-both the good and bad. Finn McMissile-British spy, was my favourite character. He was really cool and smart and seemed to always know what to do.
Professor Zundapp was one crafty villain.
Mater's girlfriend(surprise surprise!) was pretty cool and spy savvy too.

The soundtrack was great ! It kept me on the edge of my seat and really brought the movie to life. Everything in this movie combined to produce a very impressive end result. Filled with twists and turns, action and intrigue, Cars 2 is a must see!
The adventure will stay with me for some time yet...
